Subject: Please refer to the regulations for applying for leave when returning to campus for faculty members, staff, and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid test and have mild or asymptomatic symptoms from August 15, 2023.
Descriptions:
1. Handle in accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. 1122202409 dated Aug 1, 2023, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s adjustment of the supportive leave measures for those who have tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid test and have mild or asymptomatic symptoms from August 15, 2023.
2. Contingency measures for faculty, staff and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid test.
(1) 5 days of Self-Health Management. If leave of absence is required, it will be handled in accordance with the University's leave of absence regulations (Confirmed-diagnosed leave / official leave has been canceled).
(2) When symptoms are present, it is recommended to rest at home and avoid non-essential outings. If you need to go out, please wear a mask at all times, avoid places where social distance cannot be maintained or where it is easy to come into close contact with unspecified people, and refrain from engaging in activities in close proximity to other people or in a group (e.g., dinners, gatherings, public gatherings, or other similar activities).
3. Leave of absence for faculty, staff, and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid test.
(1) Students
Confirmed-diagnosed students should report to their departmental life tutor or the University Safety Center (ext. 2222) and follow the "Feng Chia University Student Leave Regulations" to log into the leave system and upload supporting documents according to the reason for the leave, while normal and sick leave must be approved by the instructor of the course.
(2) Faculty and Staff
Confirmed-diagnosed faculty and staff should report to Nurse Chang Guang-Hua (ext 2357) of the Environmental Protection, Safety Hygiene Management Center. The principle of leave of absence is handled in accordance with the announcement made by the Office of Human Resources.
4. Self-initiated mask-wearing should be done indoors or outdoors on campus. Please wear a mask in the following situations.
(1) When you have a fever or respiratory symptoms.
(2) When you are in a crowded place where proper distance from others cannot be maintained or ventilation is poor.
(3) When you are using certain transportation such as school buses or campus shuttle buses.
(4) Please wear masks in health centers in accordance with the requirements of the designated places listed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (medical care facilities).
5. Please find attached the revised "Guidelines for the Epidemic Prevention and Management of COVID-19 in Colleges and Universities".
